One of the targets of the project is the operational run of a configuration of the ROMS model, adapted to the Galician coast. Four-day forecasts of several ocean variables are run on a daily basis, with the aid of atmospheric data from the WRF model, operational at MeteoGalicia. As a result, images of different variables at several depths are generated on a daily basis, that show the temporal variation and the links between different variables. In the images below, corresponding to april 27th-30th, surface currents, temperature and salinity maps are shown. These figures show, among other things, the evolution of surface temperatures off the Portuguese coast, and the expansion of the fresh water plume at the mouth of the river Minho, as a response to changes in the surface currents in those areas.
